Some tips from West Chester University..
- Count your BLESSINGS, not your blemishes.
- Keep a list of 10 positive things about yourself
- Put a sign on your mirrors, "I am beautiful.. INSIDE and OUT!"
Something that has helped me a lot- is an art project I made last year. I got pretty colored paper- cut the papers into index card size, and then wrote encouraging notes on each of them. The encouraging notes included Scripture because God's word is the place to turn when doubting yourself and when in need of some encouragement- I made different categories like; courage, beauty, & love.
Example cards:
- "Don't compare yourself, but CELEBRATE yourself!"
- "God has not given me a spirit of fear; but of POWER, LOVE, & SELF-DISCIPLINE"
- "Charm can fool you & beauty can trick you, but a woman who RESPECTS THE LORD should be PRAISED."
Why I love my handy dandy cards:
- They always provide a boost of cheerfulness
- The cards help me connect with God by memorizing his word <3
- They were a blast to create & are super cute.
More you strive to become closer with him, the better you will feel about YOU.
Make some cute cards. Post notes on your mirror. Write yourself a letter. Shoot yourself an encouraging email. Create a poem about YOU. And include God's word in all of these.
All of the above options can be done for someone else.. AKA connect with God by encouraging someone else! Remind a friend what you love about her- surprise one of your girlfriends with a love note- helping someone else feel better- will help you feel better.
The best way to feel better about yourself : connect with God!
More you strive to become closer with him, the better you will feel about YOU.
