Facebook'd Profile

One of my guy friends, (who shall remain nameless) left a comment on my facebook that went something like this, "It was fun, you have got to come down to one of the parties we throw in Bridgeport.." Hmmh, when you all think of college parties what do you think about?
  • Birthday cake?
  • Pinatas?
  • Noise Makers?
OR IS IT MORE LIKE..
  • Alcohol?
  • Going too far with a boy?
  • Drugs?
Okay so my friend left me a comment about parties, (the alcohol type of parties- not the pinata style ones, although I totally would love a pinata!!) and not only did he leave me this comment about parties--> HE LEFT ME THIS COMMENT ABOUT PARTIES WITH A PICTURE OF HIM HALF NAKED IN HIS BOXERS! oh boy..

Hmmh, so because I work with teenagers; I know this is what could happen in their minds.

"Well Aprils like my mentor and she goes to parties- and at parties people drink- and April is friends with boys that are half naked--> SOO I can go to parties and drink, and be close with boys that are 50% naked!"

Haha, NO. Not the point I want my facebook profile to make.

But here is my point.

How does your profile represent you?

I am not talking about Facebook anymore. I mean your EVERYDAY PROFILE.
Your everyday profile includes the choices you make, the way you treat people, the thoughts you have and the words you say.

Does your profile truly represent YOU and WHO you believe in?

God will help you completely transform your profile when you accept his challenges.

It is similar to all those makeover shows; Extreme Home Makeover, What not to Wear, MADE, etc. The Before and After pictures are incredibly different! All of the changes took a while because transformation is a process. But in the end; the result is always worth the time, effort, and dedication.

Just as Kanye West, "Stronger" talks about becoming BETTER FASTER STRONGER- God wants to help make all of our profiles, better - faster - stronger !

Roller Coaster.

This week has been a roller coaster- full of ups and downs.

It was similar to Dorney Park's ride; TALON; definitely one of my favorite coasters because of all the twists and turns throughout the ride.

Let me tell you about my week.

Monday:
Skidded off the road and got my poor car (Snow White) stuck in a ditch for about two hours.

Tuesday:
My new job at church became paperwork official -very EXCITING (5/6 grade area leader)

Wednesday:
I got a speeding ticket. Yay.

Thursday:
I had an emotional time sharing a letter with my dad- tears and all.

Friday: One of my closest friends 21st birthdays!

My week went up and down- and down even lower -then back up again.

Ever have a week like this? A week when you have felt overcome by so many different emotions?
Maybe it seems like the way you feel is constantly changing- you can not seem to get a grip on having a steady emotion.

Let me give you a verse of encouragement.

"When life is good, enjoy it. But when life is hard, remember: God gives good times and hard times, and no one knows what tomorrow will bring." Eccl 7:14

During those weeks of ups, downs, twists, and turns- God is always there.
Although we may feel hopeless- alone- frustrated- TOMORROW may bring the GOOD.
